Language Taster Courses
Fancy Speaking The Native Language When Visiting The Country Of Your Choice
Come and learn the basics to make the most of your trip. These courses will give you the essential language skills for your time abroad. Topics covered include: basic greetings, numbers, food and drink, asking for directions and shopping. Cultural tips will also be discussed.
French / Spanish / Italian/ Greek / German / Portuguese Beginners
These language courses are suitable for those people with no prior knowledge of the language or those who have only learnt a few words for a holiday.
French / Spanish / Italian Improvers Level 1
These language courses follow on from our Beginners courses. They are also for those individuals who achieved a GCSE level many years ago (grade C/B) but not practised the language for a long time. They will reinforce what you have learnt and further extend your vocabulary.
French/Spanish Improvers Level 2
These language courses are ideal for those individuals who have studied the language for two years. They are also for those individuals who achieved a GCSE level several years ago (grade A) but not practised the language for a long time.
French Intermediate Level 1
This language course would suit those learners who have studied French for at least three years, or those who have very recently completed a GCSE level (grade B).
French Intermediate Level 2
This language course is suitable for those who have studied the language for four years or who have very recently completed a GCSE (grade A or above). It is also suitable for those learners who obtained an A-level in the past but have not practised the language for a long time.
This language course is for those individuals who have completed at least five years of language study or have experience of A Level study (or equivalent qualification). A good knowledge of grammar and vocabulary is essential.

Enrolment and Payment
Enrolment has now closed for September 2016 24 week courses. We may run April- July 5week courses for adult languages please contact reception for further details.
The enrolment process is very quick, no interview is required and payment can be made in Cash, Cheque or Credit/Debit card.
Note: All classes are subject to a minimum number of enrolments. If numbers are below the minimum threshold, then the class will not proceed and a full refund will be issued. No refunds are issued for withdrawals and no concessions are available, as no Government funding is available for these classes. They are leisure activities and not academic courses. There are no late enroller discounts up to w/c 5 October 2016, after which a £7.50 p/week discount will apply from 12 October 2016 for late enrollers.
